Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL

Jambo and a warm welcome to magical Kenya! A warm welcome awaits you on your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Thereafter you will drive through the lush green coffee and pineapple plantations of Thika into the million year old Mt. Kenya rainforest arriving at the Serena Mountain Lodge, a beautiful forest cabin lodge built deep in the forest.

Enjoy a complimentary nature walk in the afternoon and a cup of jungle tea with the resident Naturalist Ranger and Guide who will take you through the rainforest as you learn about the flora and fauna of the region.

Spot elephants, buffaloes, waterbuck, hyenas, bushbuck and other plains game at the watering hole before you enjoy a delicious dinner at the Lodge.

DAY 2 : MT KENYA – ABEDARES

Enjoy a lovely country breakfast at the Lodge before you travel north over the Equator with a short stop for photos. You will then make your way to the Sweetwaters Tented Camp, home of the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee Sanctuary where you will enjoy a lovely lunch followed by your first game drive in Kenya. See lions, elephants, buffaloes and leopards, if you’re lucky. Dinner will be at the Camp followed by an optional night game drive in the Ol Pejeta Sanctuary, one of the only places in Kenya where you could venture out into the wilderness after dusk. Return to the Camp after your drive and stay overnight.

DAY 3 : ABERDARES TO THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY

After a hearty breakfast you will depart for Lake Elmenteita, a soda ash lake in the Great Rift Valley and home to tens of thousands of flamingos. You will arrive in time for lunch at Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp. After a sumptuous lunch, spend the afternoon at leisure as you swim or a walk around the lake shore followed by dinner and overnight at Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp.

DAY 4 : THE GREAT RIFT VALLEY TO MASAI MARA

After a hearty breakfast, you will depart for the fabled Masai Mara National Reserve. The enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migrations and as the home of the Big Five; the Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros. Arrive in time for lunch at the beautiful Mara Serena Safari Lodge. After a sumptuous lunch, you will depart for an afternoon game drive into the savannah. Enjoy dinner at Mara Serena Safari Lodge.

DAY 5 : MASAI MARA

Begin your day with breakfast at the lodge and head out for a full day game drive to Masai Mara. During your safari you will enjoy a champagne breakfast by the Hippo Pools where you will enjoy an al fresco breakfast right on the banks of the mighty Mara River.

This region is Kenya's most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five; the lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. You could also choose to visit a local Maasai village and meet with the original inhabitants of the plains. We also recommend the hot air balloon safari in the Masai Mara. Return to the Lodge for dinner and stay overnight.

DAY 6 : MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI

Today you will depart for the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. On arrival in Nairobi you will be met with and transferred to the lovely Nairobi Serena Hotel, located in the heart of the city right opposite Uhuru and Central Park. The hotel boasts of the best French restaurant in East and Central Africa. The Cafe Maghreb serves fine international and Indian cuisine for all meals. In the afternoon, you will be taken to visit the Masai Market for shopping should you wish. 

DAY 7 : FLY BACK TO INDIA

After breakfast at the hotel you could spend the morning enjoying excursions in and around the city. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.

• Accommodation on FB Basis throughout your safari except Nairobi which is on BB basis
• Transportation in a 4X4 Safari Land Cruiser with pop up roof ideal for game viewing with a window seat for every person
• Services of an English speaking safari driver guide
• All the activities as listed in the itinerary

• All conservation fees
• Complimentary bottled water and snack hamper in all our vehicles

Excludes:

• Anything else not mentioned in inclusions.
• Visa Fees / Monument fare.
• Expenses of personal nature such as tips, telephone calls, laundry, liquor etc.
• Guide & Entrance fees during sightseeing or any other item not specified in 'cost inclusions'
• Any increase in taxes or fuel, leading to increase in surface transportation and land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure.

• Any overstay expenses due to delay or change or cancellation in flight will be on the guests own & Akbar Holidays will not be held liable for such expenses however we will provide best possible assistance.
